It was time for a new adventure! 'Heidi Jane' is my brand's name and it represents me in all my creative glory. I've always had a passion for creativity, even from a very young age. Little Heidi was always drawing and writing and at the age of 11 I inherited my Granddad's paints. And so a desire was born to be an artist. My degree focused on art textiles, where I learnt to love fabrics, threads and embellishments over the years. I have worked as an artist in residence, helping others to create. I had a business making wedding tiaras/head pieces and jewellery. Then finally, this year it was time to start something new. I suddenly had the desire to make a bag. So my friend Amanda helped me to get going. I was hooked right from the get go, making one bag after another. I have had much to learn and I still do. But I realised that this is what I wanted to do and so this new and exciting business was born.

All of my items are made with love and care. I try wherever possible to use recycled or sustainable fabrics. Having always been a craft hoarder, I now find myself collecting fabrics from charity shops, friends and family. I absolutely love giving these fabrics a second life using quilt off-cuts, curtains and items of clothing to create my unique bags. Each design I make is a one of a kind product. Recently I received a message on Facebook from my fashion and fabrics teacher, who taught me from the age of 11-13. I thanked her for teaching me to sew and her response was "I am glad that you're still enjoying it" and so, I hope you enjoy the bags as much as I enjoy making them.
